Where are you located?
We will meet online.
What are your hours?
My availability is Monday – Thursday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
How long are the sessions?
We will meet for 50-55 minutes or 20-25 minutes.
How do I set up an initial appointment?
Before we meet via video, we will talk on the phone. This is an opportunity to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit. Once we determine we are going to work together, we will make an appointment, and you will receive an email to my portal.
What is your cancellation policy?
My policy is for a client to provide notice more than 24 hours in advance of a cancellation, or you will be charged. You will not be charged the first time you cancel within the 24-hour window or if you are sick.
What age ranges do you work with?
The age ranges I work with are ages 35 – 60.
Who do you work with: couples, individuals, men, or women?
I work with couples, individuals, men, women, and LGBTQ.
What does a session look like?
We meet for 50-55 minutes; you bring yourself and any challenges you want to work on. I will have a plan in mind, and once we start the session, the plan will adapt to your needs. Often, we will talk about skills and techniques that will help and homework that will also help you bring those into your world.
Do your clients receive assignments between sessions?
Yes, if there is homework that will support your goals.
What modalities do you use?
I use a variety of modalities, the primary ones are Brainspotting, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Positive Psychology.
What is your professional training and experience?
I have a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Professional Counseling. I’ve worked as a therapist for over 20 years. My focus and training have been on Anxiety, PTSD (Trauma), LGBTQ, and Couples.
How to pick a therapist?
First, decide if you like them enough to talk with them and tell them hard things. Then, find out if their knowledge and skill base seem like a fit for what you need and want.
Which sport is better, Soccer or Football?
I like both, but I played soccer when I was younger.
What is your Superpower?
My Superpowers are listening and my sense of smell. Having smell as a superpower is not always a benefit, but I know when food is spoiling early on.
Is self-awareness important or meh?
Without self-awareness, it can be challenging to see what you need to work on or that your behavior is hurting others. If you think, “Meh,” then therapy may not be for you. If you are not sure, stick with it.
How long will this take?
This is a hard question to answer. The better question is how long did it take to get here, and thank goodness it won’t take as long to change it.
Is it selfish to do self-care?
Absolutely not! The challenge is that most of us think of self-care as behavior, product, or services to be purchased. Good self-care doesn’t have to cost money and is really effective at helping us feel better or connected.
